HIPAA/FERPA COVID-19 Case Guidance

The MOSBHA Guidance for School-Based Health Programs During the COVID-19 Pandemic, initially published in early June, was created to support and foster additional collaboration between SBH programs and the school communities they serve in planning for the reopening of SBH programs as students return to school for the 2020/2021 school year. Given the anticipated potential for suspected or confirmed cases of COVID-19 among students, the MOSBHA added a resource to support school administrators in understanding FERPA regulations related to COVID case reporting as well as a sister resource for school nurses and school-based health program staff for applying HIPAA & FERPA.
